Since 1997

An Italian firm built for American clients.

Not an Italian firm that happens to speak English. One organised around the specific gap between how Americans expect law to work and how Italian law actually works.

Every year thousands of Americans acquire something in Italy — a company, a house, an inheritance, a new address, occasionally a lawsuit. Very few of them have any way to see how the Italian system will treat it. That gap is what this firm exists to close.

The founder

Avv. Alessandro Bonta is the founder and Managing Partner of Avvocati.Us LLC. He is admitted at the Rome Bar Association — Reg. No. A42354 and holds an LL.M. in International Law, Stetson University College of Law (Florida). He has practised Italian and international law for over twenty years.

The American degree is not decoration. It is why the firm's advice arrives structured the way US counsel and US clients expect it: the question answered first, the risk quantified, the recommendation stated. Italian legal writing does not naturally work that way. Ours does.

How we are organised

Italian lawyers are admitted nationally, so our reach is the whole country: a purchase in Palermo, a hearing in Trieste and an inheritance in Bari are all handled by the same team you first spoke to. Our offices in Rome, Milan, Genoa, Cagliari and in Washington, D.C. and Morrison, NJ exist so that there is always someone in your time zone and someone at the counter in Italy.

  • A named lawyer on every file, reachable directly — not a case-management inbox
  • Written engagement terms in English before any work starts
  • Fixed or capped fees wherever the work allows it; success-linked terms in injury matters
  • Documents delivered in English, with sworn Italian translations where the authorities require them
  • Comfortable working under instruction from your US attorney, CPA or family office

What we will not do

We will not quote a property purchase before the title has been checked, promise a visa outcome the consulate controls, or put a number on an injury claim before the medical impairment has been certified. If a matter is not ours — because it is US law, or because another firm is genuinely better placed — we say so in the first call.

The first consultation is free, and it is a consultation. If we cannot help, you will know inside forty minutes.

conversation.

Tell us what is happening. If we are the right firm for it we will say so and quote you. If we are not, we will say that too.

Please do not send confidential documents until an engagement letter is in place. Prefer to talk first? WhatsApp us or call (207) 805-5956.

Hello.

Tell us what is happening in Italy.
We will tell you what it means.

A free first consultation with a lawyer — not a sales call. In English, at a time that works in your zone.
